Museum Hopping in Moscow

Posted in Travel, Museums, Russian Travel  by admin on July 31st, 2009

I have just book myself for incredible adventures to Russia, where I could go to Moscow and ride a boat trip in the Moscow river, as per advised by the Russian travel agent that I spoke to. But unlike most of the other travelers and tourists that are going there just to see Migs and other aircrafts in action, I prefer going to the museums that the great city of Moscow posses. The first on my list would be the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts since it is the largest museum of European art in Moscow. I’m going there to see the Moscow Mathematical Papyrus and Story of Wenamun. Next is the Museum of the Great Patriotic War to see the open display of military vehicles, cannons, aircraft, and the Central Museum building of the Great Patriotic War. After that, I am off to Tretyakov Gallery, which is the foremost depository of Russian fine arts in the world, to see the Black Square by Kazimir Malevich. Then, I go to the Kremlin Diamond Fond where they house a unique collection of gems, jewelry and natural nuggets. Lastly, I’ll go to the State Historical Museum so I could see the gold artifacts of the Scythians, birch-bark scrolls of Novgorod.
