Budget travelling: dreams and reality
Travelling can broaden the mind of a person and change his or her outlook on the world dramatically. No wonder that in the old times a person’s education wasn’t considered complete until travelling around the most significant parts of the world was accomplished. But unless you are an aristocrat with a bulky inheritance you may be pressed for money. So today we’ll talk about ways to curtail your travelling budget.
First of all there is backpacking. This type of travel refers to a number of budget travelling methods – using a backpack to pack only the absolute necessities, staying in youth hostels or Belarus apartment for rent, opting for hitch hiking, and so on. Backpacking also involves socializing with the locals and partaking of the native culture instead of nonsensical sightseeing and constant picture taking.
Taking up au pair jobs is another budget travelling solution. You cannot travel to many places but you get to stay in one foreign location and learn about it as much as possible. Its definite benefits are living in the host family and therefore learning firsthand the culture of the country.
Another great way to travel cheap is applying for a student exchange scholarship. You get to study in a foreign country and of course travel as much as you like with your host family and friends. But to get a scholarship you have to be academic – so get down to your books ASAP.
As you can see, there is hope to experience the world even for people without much income. You just have to use your imagination.
